Joshua Benson is an attorney at Taylor & Company Law Offices, LLP. Josh graduated with honors from Stanford University with a B.S. in Biology and a B.A. in Political Science (2004). He received his law degree in 2008 from the University of California at Berkeley School of Law (Boalt Hall), where he graduated first in his class and was awarded the Order of the Coif.

At Boalt, Josh was a member of the California Law Review and an associate editor of the Berkeley Technology Law Journal. Prior to law school, he worked as a journalist for the New Republic (2003-2004) and as Director of Speechwriting & Senior Policy Advisor to the Steve Westly for Governor campaign (2005-2006). Following law school, Josh clerked for the Honorable A. Wallace Tashima of the United States Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit (2008-2009), and worked as a volunteer attorney at Bay Area Legal Aid (2010).

He is a member of the California State Bar and is admitted to practice before the United States Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit, and the United States District Court for the Northern District of California. Josh is also a member of the Association of Business Trial Lawyers. His academic publications include The Past Does Not Repeat Itself, But It Rhymes: The Second Coming of the Liberal Anti-Court Movement, 33 Law & Soc. Inquiry 1071 (Fall 2008), and The Guantanamo Game: A Public Choice Perspective on Judicial Review in Wartime, 97 Calif. L.R. 1219 (August 2009).
